SFGATE: How the Center of S.F.’s Skyline Will Shift
At the very heart of San Francisco’s evolving downtown rises 181 Fremont’s new San Francisco condos, a mixed-use structure of angled glass that captures the city’s modern, tech-infused flavor. Positioned next to the Transbay Transit Center―the forthcoming super hub that will connect nearly every type of public transportation offered in the Bay area―181 Fremont will reach 802 feet in height and have a 100-foot spire that will ensure the building makes its mark on the city’s crowded skyline.

181 Fremont is already breaking records before its doors are even open. The building’s construction required the digging of the deepest construction shaft in San Francisco history in order to install 40 caissons into SoMa bedrock. When complete, 181 Fremont will be home to the highest luxury condos not only in San Francisco but in the entire Western United States. And those are not the building’s only superlatives: the project is designed to meet the specifications of LEED Platinum, the highest standard in sustainability.
