ARCHITECT MAGAZINE: 181 Fremont
Architect Magazine sang the praises of 181 Fremont, highlighting its striking design as well as its environmentally friendly and seismically sound construction. 181 Fremont rises 800 feet into the air, has a foundation that reaches 260 feet into the city’s bedrock, and is wrapped in a sawtooth-pattern aluminum exoskeleton that is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing: the mullions provide shade for the rooms within as the sun passes overhead—just one of the many design elements that granted the tower the coveted LEED Platinum certification. At the top of 181 Fremont is a collection of 55 luxury condos in SoMa, which are clad in natural materials like Carrara marble and oak and feature commanding views of the city and the San Francisco Bay.
