Interior Design Spotlights Sprüth Magers Exhibition at Gallery 181
Interior Design, a global authority in design and architecture, recently published a feature story on Gallery 181’s newest exhibition led by art advisor Holly Baxter and presented by Sprüth Magers. Titled “The Female Founders of Sprüth Magers Gallery Present an Exhibition of Leading Women Artists at Gallery 181 in San Francisco,” the story takes readers inside the world’s tallest art gallery and spotlights Sprüth Magers’ curated selection of works by four of the gallery’s leading women artists.
On view in Gallery 181 by appointment until March 31, this new exhibition includes dozens of paintings, photographs, sculptures and video by Cao Fei, Jenny Holzer, Karen Kilimnik and Louise Lawler. Each piece offers a nuanced view of women’s perspectives on an ever-changing world.
“The views of the building are the perfect dreamlike backdrop for the emergence and appreciation of these artworks,” Marta Fontolan, senior director of Sprüth Magers, told the publication. The article notes that the works “are in conversation with the space, including panoramic vistas of the city.”
Viewings are by appointment only and may be scheduled by emailing Holly Baxter or calling (415) 350-5595.
