181 Fremont’s groundbreaking art program and diverse collection—both led by art advisor extraordinaire Holly Baxter—has been featured in the Summer 2021 issue of quarterly publication, Art & Museum Magazine.

Titled “San Francisco’s 181 Fremont Takes Art to New Heights,” the article highlights the work of 181 Fremont’s art advisor, Holly Baxter. In addition curating recent onsite art exhibitions PODIUM I and PODIUM II, Baxter helps select works for display throughout the building—from its public areas and model residences to its Residents’ Club and for the permanent collection in Gallery 181, located within a penthouse on the 56th floor. To date, Gallery 181 houses works by Teresita Fernandez, Joel Shapiro and Richard Serra.

“Gallery 181 was conceived as a venue to host exhibitions from respected international gallery programs and to provide an opportunity to contribute to the larger cultural dialogue in the Bay Area,” Baxter tells the publication. “181 Fremont residents and the public are able to view curated exhibitions of works by artists they might not have the opportunity to otherwise experience.”
